Eight years ago, Patrick completed an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Limerick. In such a short time he became a much-loved, generous, important member of our UL community. He wrote some of his wonderful novel 'A Hard Place' while at Limerick, and it will always make us so proud to have played a small part in this. Few people live their lives as completely as Patrick did. He was funny, self-effacing, clever and kind. Of all the gifts he possessed, his greatest talent was for friendship. Of course the people who mattered to him most were his beloved family: Julia and the girls who he always spoke of with great pride and love. We will never forget him. We're sending much love to you all.
